We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive community.</p> <p>Position Title Residence Life Coordinator Position Number 896364 Position Category Administration School/Division Residential Life Department Full-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description</p> <p>Reporting to the Executive Director of Residence Life, the Residence Life Coordinator is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of all housing processes as students utilize the online system to secure, change and cancel housing. Providing exceptional customer service to students and staff as they align with university policies and procedures and overseeing the updating and review of residence life-related content, such as the Residence Life website, move-in brochures, housing selection materials, dining dollars contracts and living agreements. This role also involves ensuring all housing data is seamlessly integrated with other campus systems. As a member of the Residence Life team, this position is expected to work some nights and weekends to assist with campus events and to fulfill on call duty responsibilities.</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains dashboards within the StarRez housing database to facilitate reconciliation of data between multiple university software. </li><li>Reviews billing to ensure accuracy related to housing and dining charges. </li><li>Regularly reviews and updates all information on the Residence Life website. </li><li>Manages, updates and distributes any housing-related communications. </li><li>Oversees the annual housing selection process, acting as the primary point of contact for students and ensuring students have access to all needed materials. </li><li>Reviews and updates the dining dollars contract and act as a back up for the dining dollar plan reviews on student's account. </li><li>Creates reports from StarRez and Banner for various stakeholders, including Residence Life leadership and other campus partners. </li><li>Assists in the training of staff in using StarRez effectively and ensures compliance with system protocols. </li><li>Creates and maintains process narratives relevant to all housing operations including the living agreement for on-campus students. </li><li>Assists with data collection and analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of housing operations and housing trends within the industry; maintains housing exception codes. </li><li>Acts as liaison between Residence Life and other university partners such as Athletics, Student Access Services and Student Financial Services. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. </li><li>2-3 years of experience in residence life or housing operations with a proven record of managing housing assignments. </li><li>Strong working knowledge of software platforms including StarRez and Ellucian Banner or similar platforms. </li><li>Strong experience with all Microsoft applications. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex processes. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students and external stakeholders. </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to housing software and other systems. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Higher Education or a related field preferred. </li><li>Experience working with website content management and electronic communication tools. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions Deadline Open Until Filled Date Posted 06/25/2025 EEO Statement</p> <p>Hofstra University is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to extending equal opportunity in employment to all qualified individuals without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, national or ethnic origin, physical or mental disability, marital or veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.</p> <p>Salary/Salary Range $64,350</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.</p> <ul> <li>Salary ranges indicated for positions covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement are in accordance with the CBA. </li></ul>
