These services are</p> <p>designed to help children meet their educational goals.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with staff in planning educational intervention, curriculum, and teaching </li></ul> <p>strategies to best meet the needs of students.</p> <ul> <li>Schedules interventions using a variety of service delivery models, including classroom </li></ul> <p>intervention, consultation/collaboration, and pull-out as appropriate to meet student needs in</p> <p>the least restrictive environment.</p> <ul> <li>Meets with related school personnel to coordinate specific objectives for individualized </li></ul> <p>educational programs.</p> <ul> <li>Applies a systematic workload model to facilitate the organization of the speech-language </li></ul> <p>program within the school.</p> <ul> <li>Maintains records of the speech-language program and prepares periodic reports as required. </li><li>Perform systematic direct observations of pupils. </li><li>Conducts speech, language, and hearing screenings. </li><li>Serves on student intervention team/Individualized Education Program (IEP) team as </li></ul> <p>appropriate.</p> <ul> <li>Works with other professionals to carry out the screening process. </li><li>Uses appropriate screening instruments. </li><li>Obtains pertinent case history. </li><li>Obtains data from other professionals and parents. </li><li>Integrates data from a variety of assessment techniques and sources. </li><li>Determines the effects of the student's impairment regarding accessing the general </li></ul> <p>curriculum.</p> <ul> <li>Presents and explains data to the IEP Team. </li><li>Prepares evaluation summary. </li><li>Uses systematic procedures for review of student progress. </li><li>Changes activities based on student progress. </li><li>Collaborates in program planning and evaluation services for decision-making purposes. </li><li>Provides a written report of all evaluations completed and files them with the </li></ul> <p>Multidisciplinary team report.</p> <ul> <li>Attends RTI/SSIT meetings per request. </li><li>Attends all IEP/504 initial/re-evaluation meetings. </li><li>Adheres to established rules, regulations, laws, and appropriate ethical standards. </li><li>Other professional duties as assigned by direct supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Approved Michigan speech-language pathologist who is certified by the Michigan </li></ul> <p>Department of Education or who is fully licensed.</p> <ul> <li>Skills in the administration and interpretation of tests. </li><li>Skills in Speech therapy psychological report writing. </li><li>The capacity to interview, consult, and counsel with school personnel, parents, pupils, and </li></ul> <p>others.</p> <ul> <li>The capacity to communicate findings to professionals, parents, pupils, and others in a </li></ul> <p>meaningful manner.</p> <ul> <li>Be committed/flexible to meeting the needs of diverse students, parents, and staff. </li><li>Have excellent time-management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. </li><li>Adhere to a high level of professionalism and ethical standards. </li></ul>
