<p>To serve as the primary operational staff member in the preparation and implementation of the Arts & Ideas series. This role reflects the significance of the Arts & Ideas series in the academic development of the students at Lewis University and engagement of the surrounding community.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.</p> <ul> <li>Assist the professional staff with the design, development, and implementation of arrangements for Arts & Ideas events. </li><li>Preparation of needed materials for Arts & Ideas events. -Organize and integrate needed support services (i.e. Campus Security, cleaning services, etc.) Solicit services and send confirmation paperwork. </li><li>Implement Arts & Ideas event-day plans. </li><li>Prepare computer-generated signs for Arts & Ideas events. </li><li>Deliver and set up materials at Arts & Ideas event locations on University grounds. </li><li>Work cooperatively with all University departments to provide necessary support for Arts & Ideas events. </li><li>Prepare and place necessary directional signage for Arts & Ideas events. </li><li>At the request of the professional staff, order and/or contract special equipment or services for Arts & Ideas events when needed (i.e. entertainment, lighting, audiovisual equipment.) </li><li>Establish and maintain an appropriate events record-keeping system which will include outcome evaluations of Arts & Ideas events as well as an evaluation of provided services to the university. </li><li>Adhere to the guidelines for attendance at Arts & Ideas events. </li><li>Comprehensive University Space Utilization and Event Scheduling </li><li>Notify professional staff when an Arts & Ideas event has been cancelled. </li><li>Implement cancellation procedures when an Arts & ideas event is cancelled, including posting fliers, updating the Arts & ideas hot line, sending press releases, posting the cancellation on the website. </li><li>Work cooperatively with the professional staff to establish and maintain a university-wide computer network system of scheduling for all campus space, including parking areas. </li><li>Monitor and communicate to the professional staff when scheduling conflicts occur. </li><li>Submit appropriate paperwork to the professional staff and confirm University Events and appropriate function space (including parking) on the University Master Calendar. </li><li>University Image Enhancement/Marketing through Events </li><li>Work with the professional staff to support and promote the need for and significance of the Arts & ideas program to internal University participants and the external community. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree required. Must possess initiative, self-motivation and be detail oriented. Must possess an excellent knowledge of the English language, including spelling, grammar and punctuation. Must be able to lift and transport heavier items for event set-ups such as portable podiums, easels, etc. Must have basic knowledge of set-up and operation of different audio/visual equipment such as, TV/DVD players, etc. Must be skilled at computer usage and typing. Must be willing to work with flexible schedules involving events and weekends. Hours are variable with the programming.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Essential Duties Work hours</p> <p>Part-time; minimum of 20 hours per week during the academic year.</p>
