<p>Drives the delivery of transformational change by providing leadership to complex programs focused on overarching improvements to processes, operations, or organizational structures. Ensures that all programs meet expected delivery dates, budget allocations, and regulatory requirements. Leads and directs the activities of several managers and specialists.</p> <p>We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to join the Client Strategy team to lead Strategy and Business Planning. This role is responsible for driving high-impact strategic initiatives that advance our divisional strategy, working closely with senior leadership to shape the direction and priorities. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional engagements, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver actionable recommendations and insights. Additionally, the role will oversee business planning processes in close partnership with Finance, Digital, and Workforce Planning teams to ensure alignment of resources and execution against strategic goals.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures. </li><li>Manages cross-divisional programs or multiple workstreams within a larger program. Drives all phases of the program lifecycle from inception through implementation while ensuring that business objectives are delivered with high quality and within targeted timeframes. </li><li>Creates and maintains a multi-year program strategy that clearly identifies specific actions and tasks needed to achieve future state goals. Provides written and verbal communication to many different audiences within Vanguard on the status of the program. </li><li>Builds and maintains strategic relationships across sites, departments, divisions, and internal and external partners to support their program initiatives. Develops strong relationships with program leadership, sponsors, and workstream leads. </li><li>Ensures all steps are taken to mitigate risk, and maintains control, compliance, audit, and legal requirements. Integrates and oversees change management efforts across the overall program. Closely monitors program costs and budget and escalates cost variances appropriately and timely. </li><li>Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of eight years related business experience, with at least four years of project management experience. Previous people-leadership experience preferred. </li><li>Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred. </li><li>Strategic analysis and critical thinking abilities. </li><li>Exceptional stakeholder management including strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Strategic working experience - a proven ability to solve business problems through developing, recommending, and executing on a strategic vision. </li><li>Experience in the Financial Services industry.
