<p>Wellness Teacher, Grades 5-8 - Long-term Substitute - One year appointment</p> <p>Start Date: August 26, 2026, with new faculty orientation on August 21 & 24 - this position will end on the last student day in June of 2027</p> <p>The wellness teacher teaches wellness classes (combination of physical education and health) to students in grades 5-8. Students in all grades will be seen on a weekly basis, either once or twice a week. In addition to being responsible for executing culturally responsive and inclusive lessons, the wellness teacher will also maintain a supply closet, track the wellness budget, and instruct health lessons that include the puberty lessons relevant to each grade. A candidate familar with the revised Comprehensive Health and Physical Education (CHPE) Framework is sought after. Candidates licensed in other subject areas are also preferred.
