<p>JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE</p> <p>We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This individual will play a critical role in the preparation of accurate financial reports, maintaining general ledger accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position will work closely with the Accounting Manager.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <p>This position performs the following duties, including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Researches and prepares management reports regarding all areas of the accounting function, including budget, investments and fixed assets. </li><li>Assists with Accounts Payable function. </li><li>Completes daily and monthly general ledger and checking account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of the financial and regulatory reporting system. </li><li>Assists with preparation and review of regulatory reports and tax returns. </li><li>Assists with prepaid expenses, accrued expenses and other monthly accruals. </li><li>Assists in preparing and monitoring budgets for the financial institution. </li><li>Assists management with Federal Home Loan Bank borrowing and record-keeping. </li><li>Assists in preparing and ensuring the accuracy of monthly branch performance reports for management and the board. </li><li>Assists in making general ledger entries. </li><li>Assists non-financial managers in financial reporting & analysis </li><li>Develops innovative ways to utilize technology to streamline accounting procedures. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or CFO. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting or business degree with major in accounting. </li><li>Good knowledge of accounting principles, strong mathematical, financial management and problem solving skills. </li><li>Strong ability to analyze financial transactions. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel a must. </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Access a plus. </li><li>Excellent attention to details and ability to meet deadlines. </li><li>Good oral and written communication skills. </li></ul>
