Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.</p> <p>SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.</p> <p>FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-08 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.</p> <p>IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of applicable law enforcement and security regulations (AF, Federal, and DoD), including force protection, integrated base defense, anti-terrorism, and physical security protocols. A thorough understanding of safety, security, and EEO practices is essential. This candidate will demonstrate proficiency in police officer procedures and operating methods, enabling independent execution of duties related to protection level resources, installation entry control, armed response, and dispatch. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization, exercising sound supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Prior Security Forces experience is highly desired</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of applicable law enforcement and security AF, Federal and DoD rules, regulations, instructions, practices, principles and procedures including force protection, integrated base defense, anti-terrorism and physical security. </li><li>Knowledge of safety, security, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of police officer procedures and operating methods to perform the full range of police officer activities independently to include protection level resources, installation entry control, armed response and dispatch. </li><li>Ability to operate the Incident Management System and the Security Force Management Information System. </li><li>Ability to plan, organizes, and directs the functions and staff of an organization. </li><li>Knowledge of aerial surveillance principles in order to ensure police officers can identify SUAS systems. </li><li>Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
