<p>The Department of Psychology & Counselor Education at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids,</p> <p>Michigan invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Counselor Education. This is a</p> <p>full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Counselor Educator position starting as early as</p> <p>January 2026 or August 2026. Opportunities for summer teaching are also available. The</p> <p>MAC Program Assistant Professor will work under the direction of the MAC Program</p> <p>Director and the Provost.</p> <p>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Teaching: Teach three graduate level clinical counseling courses/semester. A summer</p> <p>contract will be available for teaching additional courses if desired. Develop and maintain</p> <p>competence with web assisted teaching technology.</p> <p>Student Advisement, Recruitment, Selection and Evaluation: Advise MAC students, assist</p> <p>with recruitment of qualified students, assist with new student orientation, and serve on</p> <p>program committees for admissions and remediation to assess student progress</p> <p>throughout the program.</p> <p>CACREP Accreditation: The successful candidate will assist in the CACREP accreditation</p> <p>process including participation with conducting and writing the self-study, implementing</p> <p>and maintaining CACREP standards, and participation in ongoing program assessment.</p> <p>Scholarship: The successful candidate will develop and maintain a program of scholarship</p> <p>in their area of interest/expertise. Candidates are encouraged to engage students in their</p> <p>research whenever possible.</p> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Minimum requirements include a Doctorate in Counselor Education, preferably from a</p> <p>CACREP program.</p> <p>Must be eligible for the LPC in Michigan. Our expectation is that the</p> <p>successful candidate will obtain Michigan licensure by the end of their second year.</p> <p>Experience in teaching, counseling, and clinical supervision of counselors-in-training is</p> <p>preferred, but ABD candidates will be considered.
