<p>General Summary</p> <p>Applicants must qualify for work-study funds from Financial Aid.</p> <p>Starting rate for new hires is $16.00 per hour.</p> <p>Up to 20 hours per week across all student positions.:</p> <p>SELECTION PROCESS</p> <p>Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate. Completed application package includes</p> <ul> <li> <p>A submitted application</p> </li><li> <p>A copy of current class schedule.</p> </li><li> <p>Students may copy their class schedule from eWolf and paste into a Word document. Then save it to your desktop in order to upload to the application in the "Attachments" step.</p> </li><li> <p>You can also attach a cover letter and/or resume, but it is not required.</p> </li></ul> <p>All application materials become the property of Front Range Community College and cannot be copied. FRCC will conduct a criminal background check on selected candidate. FRCC does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, age, color, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or national origin in employment or in our educational programs and activities.</p> <p>Primary Duties</p> <p>Student Support & Mentoring</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide exemplary customer service and support to TRIO SSS Scholars.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating effective study skills, time management, and persistence.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain and manage a caseload of students in partnership with TRIO SSS Counselors.</p> </li><li> <p>Support students in setting and achieving academic, career, and personal goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Represent TRIO SSS with compassion, curiosity, and connection.</p> </li></ul> <p>Program Engagement & Coordination</p> <ul> <li> <p>Coordinate and execute workshops and enrichment activities for program participants.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the recruitment of future TRIO SSS Scholars.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote program events and encourage student participation.</p> </li><li> <p>Some flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.</p> </li></ul> <p>Administrative Support</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist TRIO staff with paperwork, sign-in procedures, and onboarding fellow students into the program.</p> </li><li> <p>Schedule appointments for TRIO staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist staff in making outreach phone calls and sending emails to TRIO SSS participants.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide basic program support through administrative projects assigned by direct supervisor and TRIO staff members.</p> </li></ul> <p>Professional Development & Training</p> <ul> <li> <p>Meet weekly with direct supervisor for 30 minutes to clarify questions and receive ongoing training.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend required Peer Mentor training sessions and ongoing professional development workshops.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in regular team meetings and supervision with TRIO SSS staff.</p> </li></ul> <p>Other Duties</p> <ul> <li>Perform other duties as assigned to support the TRIO SSS program. </li></ul> <p>Required Competencies</p> <p>Communication & Interpersonal Skills</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to provide excellent customer service to TRIO SSS Scholars and staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Curiosity and openness to engage with fellow students and build meaningful connections.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsiveness to requests and commitment to asking questions to enhance knowledge and relationships.</p> </li></ul> <p>Organization & Critical Thinking</p> <ul> <li> <p>Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, show initiative, and follow through on tasks.</p> </li><li> <p>Creative and critical thinking skills to solve problems and support program activities.</p> </li></ul> <p>Technical Skills</p> <ul> <li> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general computer troubleshooting.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook) to support program outreach.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to navigate online systems such as eWolf, D2L, or similar learning management and campus platforms.</p> </li></ul> <p>Professionalism & Growth Mindset</p> <ul> <li> <p>Receptive to training and guidance from TRIO staff and supervisors.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates reliability, engagement, and a positive attitude toward ongoing learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and represent TRIO SSS with integrity.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must be a FRCC student enrolled in at least 6 credits for the current semester </li><li>Applicants must qualify for and be awarded Federal Work-Study funds through Financial Aid. </li><li>Actively enrolled in TRIO SSS, with at least one semester of experience in the program. </li><li>Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. </li><li>Be a current FRCC Boulder County Campus student. </li><li>Able to commit 10-20 hours per week during TRIO operating hours; flexibility may be granted for virtual-only service delivery. </li></ul> <p>Notice to Prospective Employees: Front Range Community College is required by the Clery Act of 1990 to notify prospective employees, current employees, students and applicants where to access our Campus Security Report.
