<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Elementary School Teaching/Music - Instrumental</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>4/6/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>All Elementary Schools</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>26/27 School Year</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Until Filled</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Romulus Community Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>POSITION: Elementary Instrumental Music Teacher</p> <p>(Potentially a Traveling position)</p> <p>LOCATION: Romulus Elementary Schools</p> <p>START DATE: 2026-2027 School Year</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Building Principal(s)</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited university </li><li>Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Music (JX or JQ) endorsement. </li><li>Awareness of the physical, social, emotional and mental development of the learner </li><li>Proficient and knowledgeable in the subject area </li><li>Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents and staff </li><li>Strong communication and organizational skills </li><li>Knowledge of data and how it is used to inform instruction </li><li>Proficient with technology as an instructional tool. </li><li>RESPONSIBILITIES: </li><li>Provide instrumental music instruction to elementary students in small group and/or full ensemble settings. </li><li>Introduce and develop foundational skills in rhythm, tone production, music literacy, and performance. </li><li>Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons aligned with district and state music standards. </li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. </li><li>Organize and direct student performances, concerts, and school/community events. </li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support student learning and school initiatives. </li><li>Maintain and manage music equipment, instruments, and instructional materials. </li><li>Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and program expectations. </li><li>Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment. </li><li>Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities as assigned. </li><li>This position is required to travel between buildings. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>This posting should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standards of the position or that this is the exclusive list of job functions or expectations associated with this position.
