<p>Position Summary</p> <p>As the Education Director, you will be responsible for the development, coordination, and administration of MJTC and MMHI educational services, including:</p> <ul> <li>general and special education, and High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) preparation for eligible individuals. </li><li>providing direct supervision of MJTC and MMHI education staff. </li><li>serving as a member of education workgroups and representing MJTC and MMHI within DHS and DCTS committees and workgroups, as assigned. </li><li>administering education programming in accordance with federal and Wisconsin State Department of Public Instruction (DPI) standards. </li></ul> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>The starting salary is between $44.50 and $49.50 per hour (approximately between $92,600 and $103,00 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. An additional hourly add-on may be available for up to $2.97 per hour for relevant credits that are beyond a bachelor's degree. A 24-month career executive trial period is required.</p> <p>Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 81/02.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>All applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.</p> <p>All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by MMHI or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.</p> <p>DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. DHS is not an E-Verify employer nor a STEM-OPT eligible employer.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Administrator by the Wisconsin DPI. Eligible is defined as having completed the education and hours requirement and being in the process of obtaining licensure. Licensure must be obtained prior to appointment. </li><li>Experience teaching and using research-based instructional practices. </li><li>Experience in a leadership role in school-wide initiatives, committees, strategic planning, or special education with an understanding of education-related state and federal laws (e.g., Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), DPI regulations for certified schools, Act 20, etc.). </li><li>Experience in a leadership or supervisory role over other staff members (e.g., leading projects or programs, training or mentoring other staff, reviewing or assigning work, completing performance evaluations, etc.). </li></ul> <p>Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience leading special education programming including writing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). </li><li>Experience using educational technology and related programs (e.g., budget and student management systems, etc.). </li><li>Experience providing educational services to students with mental health issues, behavioral issues, or at-risk youth. </li></ul> <p>Your letter of qualifications and resume are limited to two (2) pages each.
