<p>Overview The Safety Analyst plays a key role in enhancing organizational safety by analyzing existing safety processes and procedures. This position gathers and synthesizes data from Federal and State agencies, as well as input from the driver fleet, to identify risk areas and support the development of targeted corrective action plans. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance by maintaining up-to-date driver qualification files, auditing driver logs for accuracy and completeness, and conducting final reviews of camera reports to verify accuracy and proper documentation. Responsibilities Safety Data Reporting Submits weekly and monthly safety performance reports and statistical summaries. Tracks trends and identifies areas for improvement using compiled data. Regulatory Education and Compliance Educates drivers and NFI personnel on FMCSA regulations and compliance requirements. Provides training and support on roadside inspection procedures and CSA scoring. Compliance Monitoring and Documentation Monitors the CSA portal for updates on roadside inspections and violations. Records fleet citations in the safety database and communicates findings to stakeholders. Ensures compliance with California BIT inspection requirements. Driver Behavior and Performance Coaching Reviews and manages camera events for accuracy and coaching opportunities. Partners with operations to coach drivers on behavior and safety improvements. Hours of Service (HOS) and Log Auditing Audits driver logs to identify HOS violations and ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations. Prepares and distributes management reports to support timely corrections and operational follow-up. Answers incoming calls from drivers to provide assistance with ELD (Electronic Logging Device) issues, including troubleshooting and log clarification. Driver Qualification File Management Performs EPN (Employer Pull Notice) reviews and updates, including annual driver record checks. Manages DMV record updates for medical certificates and driver's license renewals. Vehicle and Inspection Record Compliance Ensures proper filing and tracking of DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports). Supports BIT inspection file readiness and accuracy. Drug and Alcohol Program Support Coordinates and tracks compliance for random drug and alcohol testing Qualifications Job-Related and Physical Requirements Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data, identify trends, and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Ability to coordinate and process fine payments accurately and in a timely manner. Skilled in collecting operational, roadway, and legal information to dispute inaccurate violations or fines. Proficient in submitting documentation, payments, and regulatory responses through email and online portals, including Federal and State agency systems. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the flexibility to adjust work hours, including early mornings or late evenings, to accommodate time zone differences across regions. Must be able to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. Occasional travel may be required for audits, inspections, or driver coaching sessions. Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and through written correspondence. Experience, Education, and Training Prior experience in the transportation or logistics industry is preferred, but not required. Bachelor's degree in a related field (such as Safety, Transportation, Business, or Logistics) is preferred, but not required. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Willingness to travel as needed to support field operations, training, or audits.
