<p>Piper Companies is seeking a Hardware Engineer for a world leading technology company located in the Raleigh Durham, North Carolina area. The Hardware Engineer role is hybrid working 2 days onsite in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area. A successful candidate for the Hardware Engineer role will have an interest or background within security.</p> <p>Responsibilities for the Hardware Engineer include:</p> <ul> <li>Design, implement, test, and support hardware and firmware-based security technologies </li><li>Develop solutions to improve the trustworthiness of embedded systems and Cisco products </li><li>Assist internal product teams with deploying security technologies </li><li>Create documentation, reference code, and scripts to support adoption and verification </li><li>Participate in architecture and design reviews, including HDL code assessments </li><li>Investigate emerging security threats and technologies, including Post Quantum Cryptography </li><li>Apply malware forensic analysis techniques to enhance product security features </li></ul> <p>Requirements for the Hardware Engineer include:</p> <ul> <li>B.S./M.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field </li><li>1+ years of experience with FPGA design and/or verification using Verilog </li><li>Experience with embedded CPU systems and hardware debugging in lab environments </li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills with lab tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, evaluation boards) </li><li>Familiarity with x86 and ARM CPUs, boot architecture, and scripting (Python, Linux shell) </li><li>Plus: Knowledge of security design principles and Post Quantum Cryptography standards (LMS/XMSS, ML-DSA) </li></ul> <p>Compensation for the Hardware Engineer:</p> <ul> <li>$115,000 - $150,000 annually </li><li>Full comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and sick leave as required by law </li><li>This job opens for applications on August 25, 2025.
