As we continue to accelerate our progress, we're seeking educators who are committed, reflective, and ready to collaborate in a learning-focused, student-centered environment.</p> <p>If you're ready to make a meaningful difference and grow as part of a dedicated team, consider building your career with Southbridge Public Schools.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree </li><li>DESE licensure (Special Education </li><li>SEI Endorsement Required </li><li>Three years' experience in special education preferred </li><li>Strong organizational, communication and management skills </li></ul> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Supervises the special education process and procedures from initial referral to eligibility determination to implement Individualized Education (IEP) plans. </li><li>Ensures all aspects of compliance and monitoring with IDEA and related special education law, regulation, and policy for students ages 6-22 years, as assigned. </li><li>Maintains electronic IEP database of all students on assigned caseloads. </li><li>Chairs IEP Team meetings and acts as the local educational agency (LEA) representative. </li><li>Oversee the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, as assigned. </li><li>Coordinates special education services among teachers and service providers. </li><li>Establishes effective relationships and communication with parents and families. </li><li>Develops & maintains scheduling/servicing of special education students, in conjunction with service providers and special education teachers. </li><li>Participates in the design, implementation and evaluations of specialized programs under the supervision of the Director of Student Services. </li><li>Fosters collaboration among teachers and paraprofessionals, through regular meetings. </li><li>Organizes and coordinates MCAS administration relative to accommodations of students with IEPs, as well as those participating in an alternate assessment. </li><li>Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior at all times and follow the policies and procedures as outlined by the school committee and district administration. </li><li>Formulates and provides guidance for ESY services with other members of the Special Education Department. </li><li>Performs other duties at the discretion of the Director of Student Services. </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Southbridge Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, sex, gender identity, disability, religion, age, or sexual orientation.</p>
