<p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Principal</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT STATUS:</p> <p>Regular, full-time</p> <p>FLSA STATUS:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Provide clerical, office management and student/staff support services to the school.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Greet and assist visitors, answer the telephone and deliver messages. </li><li>Type reports and correspondence. </li><li>Prepare documents for distribution; for example, memos and newsletters. </li><li>Process requisition forms and invoices. Cross check with purchase orders. </li><li>Manage kindergarten registration process. </li><li>Collect student fees and monitor free lunch and fee waivers. </li><li>Assure the proper handling of cash, including daily bank deposits. </li><li>Prepare periodic financial reports for the Treasurer's office; for example, student fees, lost library books, damaged text books. </li><li>Verify the accuracy of reports and leave forms before they are sent to the central office. </li><li>Arrange substitutes for classified staff. Locate substitute teachers in emergencies. Process the appropriate paperwork associated with these tasks. </li><li>Keep the building equipment functioning properly. </li><li>Monitor the schedules of such events as health screenings, parent conferences, programs and school pictures; and complete the necessary follow up tasks. </li><li>Assist ill or injured students and staff as needed. </li><li>Assist teachers with classroom or clerical duties as assigned by the Principal. </li><li>Assist with the management and monitoring of student records and attendance. </li><li>Monitor student custody, as it relates to releasing students from school. </li><li>Maintain a neat, attractive office environment. </li><li>Maintain the confidentiality of information that is not public domain. </li></ul> <p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with special projects, such as handbooks, invitations, fundraisers and awards programs. </li><li>Assist the building aide(s) as needed; for example, dispense medications. </li><li>Participate in professional development activities as assigned. </li><li>Maintain an appropriate personal appearance. </li><li>Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district. </li><li>Serve as a role model in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma. </li><li>Post high school education preferred. </li><li>3- 5 years of prior administrative/secretarial experience preferred. </li><li>Alternate to these qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Well-developed typing skills. </li><li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Competence with computers and office machines, and a willingness to continuously upgrade those skills. </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively with all staff and to interact with staff, students and the public in a positive manner. </li><li>Ability to adapt to change quickly and to accept new and challenging tasks as they arise. </li><li>Willingness to become trained in first aid. </li><li>Ability to be bonded. </li></ul> <p>EQUIPMENT OPERATED:</p> <ul> <li>Computer and printer. </li><li>Fax machine. </li><li>Copier. </li><li>Laminator. </li><li>Various other office machines, educational equipment and tools. </li><li>Public address system. </li><li>Bus radio. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS :</p> <ul> <li>Repetitive hand motions (typing/computer). </li><li>Potential exposure to blood or other body fluids and tissue. </li><li>Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather; that is, being prepared to come to school on all scheduled work days except calamity days. </li><li>Some interaction with unruly children. </li><li>Occasional interaction with angry or distraught adults. </li><li>Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, reach, stretch with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, and kneel. </li><li>Frequent requirement to lift, carry, push and pull various items; for example, books and supplies, up to 25 lbs. </li></ul> <p>CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Length of Employment: One Year Limited Contract </li><li>Salary: Based on current classified salary schedule with appropriate experience and training </li><li>Fringe Benefits: Based on current Classified Handbook </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:</p> <p>Please submit a letter of interest and resume to the online application.
