<p>Senior Accountant</p> <p>Open Date:7/3/2025 Status:Accepting Applications Job Code:25-CONTR-283</p> <p>Current Opening</p> <p>Mount Aloysius College, repeatedly recognized by ModernThink as a "Great College to Work For," invites applications for a full-time Senior Accountant to join our team of Accounting staff in the Business Office. The Senior Accountant performs a variety of accounting functions including, but not limited to; general ledger, financial statement preparation, variance analysis, fixed assets, purchasing and other related functions, with a major role in all areas relating to financial reporting.</p> <p>The Senior Accountant creates and manages the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and other reports. This position is responsible to learn and understand the College's operating budget and financial forecasts and assists with preparation as needed. Researches and provides explanation for significant variances; analyzes financial statements and financial activity to identify trends; provides financial information needed for grant proposals and compliance. Coordinates budget and spending reporting requirements for various grants (State, Federal and Private); coordinates audit tasks and ensures timely submission of information to auditors. The Senior Accountant compiles information and submits various audits and surveys.</p> <p>This position ensures accuracy of general ledger accounts in the Jenzabar EX Financial Reporting System and performs monthly closing of general ledger accounts. Also responsible for performing year-end inventory of the College Bookstore and Support Center. Provides assistance to the Controller, Assistant Controller and other Accounting team members as necessary. Gathers, prepares and files information for submission to State agencies; processes and conducts research regarding PA Sales Tax requirements.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience with financial reporting and analysis for complex organizations.</p> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required. Experience in financial reporting and/or financial analysis for non-profits strongly preferred. Experience working in a college or university setting is preferred. Experience with Jenzabar is a plus.</p> <p>This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to listen, communicate, and collaborate effectively with the College's diverse stakeholders. Analytical skills and the ability and willingness to identify and implement creative solutions. High degree of professionalism and a demonstrated ability to maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality is required.</p> <p>This is a full-time, 12-month, benefit-eligible position. While some flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity for periodic remote days exists, this position is on campus in Cresson, PA, and is not eligible for remote work.
