This role is critical in ensuring field operations run efficiently, safely, and according to schedule. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, underground utility knowledge, and a strong work ethic to support our growing infrastructure projects.</p> <p>Key Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide direct supervision and technical guidance to Linemen, Apprentices, and Groundmen</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate all on-site operations including crew mobilization, work planning, and equipment setup</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure safety protocols are communicated, understood, and enforced at all times</p> </li><li> <p>Manage materials, tools, and equipment required for daily operations</p> </li><li> <p>Read and interpret site plans, electrical drawings, blueprints, and scopes of work</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate effectively with Construction Managers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee adherence to project schedules and assist in planning and budgeting</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize or be open to learning digital tools and mobile technology for job site efficiency</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction, productivity, and crew morale</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications & Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Prior experience leading underground utility distribution crews required</p> </li><li> <p>Groundwork experience in utility construction is essential</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and construction practices</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read and interpret blueprints and utility specifications</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills</p> </li><li> <p>Comfortable collaborating with all levels of the organization</p> </li><li> <p>Must be willing to:</p> </li><li> <p>Travel long distances on short notice</p> </li><li> <p>Work extended hours, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain</p> </li><li> <p>Must pass a background check, and drug & alcohol screening, clearinghouse and MVR check</p> </li><li> <p>Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs or more frequently throughout the day</p> </li><li> <p>Required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and climb for extended periods</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to grip, grasp, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in confined spaces and trenches, including uneven or rough terrain</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to withstand prolonged exposure to outdoor environments such as heat, cold, rain, dust, and noise</p> </li><li> <p>Must have adequate vision and hearing (with or without correction) to safely perform job duties</p> </li><li> <p>Capable of operating hand and power tools, and other construction-related equipment</p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work is performed primarily outdoors in active construction environments</p> </li><li> <p>May require extended travel based on project location</p> </li><li> <p>Work in proximity to heavy machinery, traffic, and electrical hazards</p> </li><li> <p>PPE is required at all times (company-provided)</p> </li></ul> <p>Key Attributes</p> <ul> <li> <p>Self Motivated - Takes initiative and responsibility for for safety quality.</p> </li><li> <p>Team-Oriented - Works cooperatively with others in a crew setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Customer-Focused - Acts with professionalism and respect.</p> </li><li> <p>Safety-Minded - Adheres to safety protocols and uses PPE properly.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Notes</p> <p>This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
