<p>Job Summary</p> <p>This job is in the Quality job family (Department), which includes positions the duties of which are to perform, administer, or advise on work concerned with assuring the quality of Reliance products The work of this series involves the development of plans and programs for achieving and maintaining product quality throughout the item's life cycle, monitoring operations to prevent the production of defects and to verify adherence to quality plans and requirements, and analysis and investigation of adverse quality trends or conditions and initiation of corrective action. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.</p> <p>Job Function</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for quality assurance and ensuring quality standards are met and maintained to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and cost-effective manner. </li><li>Measures dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers. </li><li>Examines the quality standards of various products across multiple stages of development and/or delivery. </li><li>Inspects, tests, or measures materials, products, installations, and work for conformance to specifications. </li><li>Discusses inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommends necessary corrective actions. </li><li>Checks the quality of incoming and outgoing products by conducting tests, monitoring production processes and identifying defects. </li><li>Designs appropriate tests and analyzes test data and makes computations as necessary to determine test results. </li><li>Maintains test documentation, test execution and champions quality standards with internal/external team members. </li><li>Conducts internal and assists with external audits, compares actual conditions with requirements and reports results to management. </li><li>Determines whether products and/or processes comply with, regulations and/or standards and advises management, as appropriate. </li><li>Identifies production problems, notifies supervisors and other staff and assists in correcting problems. </li><li>Assists in the implementation quality improvement strategies and initiatives for the company. </li><li>Tracks, forecasts, and reports quality data as needed. </li><li>Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards. </li><li></li></ul> <p>All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.</p> <p>Required Skills</p> <p>If adding or making edits, please be sure to clearly label whether a new skill or qualification is required or preferred.</p> <ul> <li>0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required. </li><li>High School diploma/GED required, Bachelor degree preferred. </li><li>Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective processing and distribution of material required. </li><li>Basic understanding of company product(s) and their uses required. </li><li>Basic knowledge of quality control practices and key industry trends required. </li><li>Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required. </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills required. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem solving skills required. </li><li>Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including analysis, knowledge and experience, and judgment required. </li><li>Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers as well as internal/external customers required. </li><li>Strong computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft applications and/or reporting software required. </li></ul>
