Also included are extra-curricular activities that are commensurate with the operation of a successful school program</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with instruction of students as determined by the nature of their</p> </li></ol> <p>handicap. This will include care in the areas of feeding, dressing, toileting</p> <p>(including diapering, catheterization, and toilet training), and physical mobility.</p> <ol start="5"> <li> <p>Assist teacher(s) in a variety of ways to implement the instructional program including working directly with children in small groups or on a one-to-one basis</p> </li><li> <p>Provide general assistance to students assigned to the classroom</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts activities for students with directions firmly established by the teacher</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares material for instruction as outlined by the teacher</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned by the principal, Director of Special Education and Special Services or Director of Safety and Transportation</p> </li></ol> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ol> <li> <p>Be able to impart information and orally communicate with students, families and others.</p> </li><li> <p>Be able to understand and respond to oral communications and directions.</p> </li><li> <p>Be able to read, write, understand and respond to written instructions, communications and materials.</p> </li><li> <p>When supervising a group of students, have the capacity to ensure the safety of, observe, supervise and assess all situations involving a student, a group of students and co-workers.</p> </li><li> <p>For Elementary, K and Pre-K - Have mobility, strength, and dexterity to be able to lift a student weighting up to 40 pounds; interact at each student's maturity level and size; and retrieve students who wander and/or run from the group.</p> </li></ol> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Must be at least 18 years old</p> </li><li> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>Must pass the compentency test for Aide, as required by the WVDE.
