All brought together in a flexible work environment where you can truly find balance.</p> <p>About the Opportunity</p> <p>The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Research Department has an immediate opening for a Regional Economist, reporting to the Vice President Applied Analysis.</p> <p>In this role, the successful candidate supports the Bank's survey work and the Bank's regional and community work in Maryland, DC, and West Virginia through a number of activities that include survey analysis and economic updates to internal and external audiences. The candidate will lead Bank strategic initiatives related to regional economic and survey-related topics. The candidate must develop tools and methods to track economic developments in Maryland, DC, and West Virginia, provide briefings to the Bank President and other executives, and maintain contacts in academic and business communities. The ideal candidate has strong empirical experience. Business outreach will include gathering information from contacts to support the regional outreach program. The candidate will also engage with the media. The position will be based in Baltimore, MD.</p> <p>Onsite presence required.</p> <p>With an application, candidates are required to submit 3 documents:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Resume (CV)</p> </li><li> <p>Cover letter stating why you are a good match to the job, how you got interested in regional research, and how the role will fit into your career path</p> </li><li> <p>A recent example of your ability to write clearly and concisely about an economic topic.</p> </li></ul> <p>Cover letter and other required documents should be uploaded as attachments to your electronic submission.</p> <p>What You Will Do:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Engage in monetary policy-relevant analysis on regional and national business survey data.</p> </li><li> <p>Support the Bank's regional outreach by giving presentations to internal and external audiences on economic conditions and policy topics.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and analyze regional economic and community conditions. '</p> </li><li> <p>Develop tools and methods to identify and track changes in regional economic conditions.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute economic analysis and commentary content to Bank's website.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and maintain contacts in academic and business communities.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate with the media, when necessary.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>3 - 5 or more years of relevant work experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Graduate degree (Master's or PhD) in Economics or related field required.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong empirical skills required.
