<p>Operations Director</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>LOCATION: ORISKANY, NY (onsite)</p> <p>ABOUT BONIDE</p> <p>Bonide Products LLC is a mid-sized, U.S.-based specialty home and garden manufacturer with a nearly 100-year history of providing effective, trusted solutions to consumers across lawn, garden, and pest control categories.</p> <p>Bonide is in the midst of a multi-year transformation from a family-run organization to a professional, consumer-led, brand-driven operating company. This transformation includes installing standard operating processes, strengthening cross-functional execution, and evolving capabilities to support growth across mass retail and e-commerce channels.</p> <p>Bonide maintains a strategic partnership with a global agricultural science company, providing access to advanced chemistry, formulation expertise, and active ingredients.</p> <p>ROLE SUMMARY</p> <p>Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Director of Operations is responsible for leading Bonide's end-to-end operations and supply chain performance, including demand and supply planning, sourcing, manufacturing, third-party tolling, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.</p> <p>This role integrates manufacturing, supply planning, inventory strategy, service levels, and operating cadence across channels. It is not confined to plant execution or functional optimization.</p> <p>The Director of Operations serves as a core member of the Bonide Leadership Team (BLT) and is accountable for building a scalable, disciplined, and cost-effective operations platform that enables growth while reducing variability and reliance on executive intervention.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Enterprise Operations Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Own end-to-end operations performance across planning, procurement, manufacturing, third-party production, inventory, logistics, and distribution. </li><li>Architect, own, and enforce core decision forums (S&OP, supply reviews, escalation paths) to ensure timely, explicit trade-offs. </li><li>Serve as a strategic partner to Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Regulatory. </li><li>Contribute to enterprise strategy, annual planning, and capital allocation as a member of the BLT. </li></ul> <p>Planning, Service & Inventory Performance</p> <ul> <li>Lead demand planning, supply planning, and production planning with clear service, cost, and working capital trade-offs. </li><li>Ensure service levels and inventory positions reflect deliberate channel strategies, not legacy norms. </li><li>Establish operating rhythms, KPIs, and performance reviews that drive decisions and execution. </li></ul> <p>Manufacturing & Third-Party Network Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Lead internal manufacturing and third-party production execution, including capacity planning and prioritization. </li><li>Establish and manage formulation and tolling partnerships with explicit performance expectations. </li><li>Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and reliability. </li></ul> <p>Cost-to-Serve & Financial Discipline</p> <ul> <li>Build and maintain true cost-to-serve visibility by channel. </li><li>Use cost-to-serve insights to inform service differentiation, SKU rationalization, MOQ discipline, and channel prioritization. </li><li>Identify and reduce margin leakage driven by operational inefficiencies. </li></ul> <p>Procurement, Packaging & Regulatory Coordination</p> <ul> <li>Lead sourcing and procurement for active ingredients, labels, and packaging. </li><li>Oversee packaging design, engineering, and certification to meet EPA, DOT, and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Coordinate closely with Regulatory, Scientific, Quality, and Product Development teams. </li></ul> <p>Inventory, Logistics & Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Ensure accurate inventory management across all locations, including reconciliations and disposition strategies. </li><li>Oversee compliant and efficient logistics, import/export activity, and inventory movements. </li><li>Own strategies for slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, and off-grade inventory. </li></ul> <p>New Product Commercialization & Change Management</p> <ul> <li>Ensure operational readiness for new products, line extensions, and formulation changes. </li><li>Lead operational change initiatives tied to new processes, systems, and scale. </li></ul> <p>People & Culture Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Build, coach, and lead a high-performing operations team. </li><li>Develop leadership bench strength aligned with Bonide's long-term vision. </li><li>Build credibility through presence in plants and respect for institutional knowledge. </li><li>Raise performance standards without breaking the culture. </li></ul> <p>Additional duties as assigned.</p> <p>Success Measures</p> <ul> <li>Predictable service performance by channel </li><li>Inventory health and working capital efficiency </li><li>Cost-to-serve transparency and margin improvement </li><li>Decision velocity and reduction in executive escalations </li><li>Strength, engagement, and ownership of the operations leadership team </li></ul> <p>Qualifications & Experience</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.</p> <ul> <li>10+ years of progressive operations or supply chain leadership experience in consumer or regulated manufacturing environments. </li><li>Proven experience building operating systems and decision cadence in imperfect, evolving environments. </li><li>Strong financial and analytical orientation. </li><li>Experience with ERP systems supporting inventory, manufacturing, and logistics. </li></ul> <p>An essential element of Bonide culture is our commitment to diversity.
