Shaw University is looking for Part-Time (Adjunct) Faculty, Computer Science/CIS/Cyber Operations. A grant funded postition. Reporting to the Department Head, School of Business and Professional Studies, the Adjunct Faculty, Computer Science is responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate courses in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Science (CS), and Cyber Operations (CSC) degree programs.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Teaching all levels of undergraduate Computer Science (CS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), and </li></ul> <p>Cyber Operations (CSC) courses (teaching load is up to 9 credit hours per semester)</p> <ul> <li>Maintaining professional scholarship </li><li>Advising students, If needed but not required </li><li>Effectively manages the classroom environment </li><li>Develop, maintains, and submits accurate, timely and complete records (attendance, assignments, </li></ul> <p>grades, end of course notebooks, etc.)</p> <ul> <li>Conducting active research </li><li>Participation in course and curriculum development, if needed </li><li>Serve the College, the University, and the profession and community as appropriate </li><li>Discuss matters related to the students in the applicable program. </li><li>Disseminates information to students relating to internships and job opportunities, research, seminars, </li></ul> <p>graduate schools, supporting programs, tutoring, etc.</p> <ul> <li>Other duties as assigned by supervisor </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>None</p> <p>Minimum Job Qualifications</p> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <ul> <li>Master's in Computer Science or closely related field required; Ph.D. preferred </li><li>Demonstrated potential for effective teaching and a strong record of scholarly activity in high quality peerreviewed scholarly journals and conferences </li><li>Computer architecture, Artificial Intelligence, Programming, operating systems, and networking </li></ul> <p>expertise/networking/Cyber security are preferred.</p> <ul> <li>Conducting research preferred </li></ul> <p>Certificates, Licenses or Registrations</p> <p>Must possess the minimum credential standards of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS),</p> <p>which normally include at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in the subject area or suitable approved</p> <p>justifications.</p> <p>Other Competencies</p> <p>Must have a philosophy that is consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the organization.
