The position is a ten-month teaching assignment with responsibilities for teaching four sections each semester (equal to 24 contact hours per year) and for engaging in service activities at the campus level.</p> <p>Basic Qualifications</p> <p>REQUIREMENTS: The division seeks highly qualified candidates who have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching in one of the following fields of expertise: microbiology, cell biology, and/or biochemistry. The successful candidate also may be expected to teach courses in general biology for majors and non-majors.</p> <p>Candidates should have a Master's Degree, Ph.D. or equivalent in one or more of the fields listed above or a related field. The successful candidate should have experience teaching undergraduate biology courses. In addition, the candidate needs to have the ability and interest to work with a diverse student population. Candidates should have the desire to improve conditions in and access to higher education for underrepresented students. Strong oral and written communication skills are a must. Preference will be given to candidates with a record of teaching one or more of the following: cell biology, microbiology, or biochemistry.
