<p>Job Title Student Life Center Attendant for Summer 2025 Department Recreational Sports Office Job Description/Duties</p> <p>Student Life Center Attendants work at the Front Desk and Equipment Checkout. They also supervise the Fitness Areas and work as Building Managers.</p> <p>General duties/responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide good customer service by being attentive, friendly and helpful. </li><li>Be knowledgeable about Student Life Center program offerings and be able to confidently provide information to patrons. </li><li>Enforce Student Life Center policies and procedures in a consistent manner. </li><li>Adhere to the department dress code (polo, athletic wear, etc.). </li><li>Always carry a radio with you and use it in a professional manner for work purposes only. </li><li>Be prepared to respond to emergencies/incidents that occur while you are on duty. </li><li>Address and report problems that you encounter while on duty. </li><li>Arrive on time and only leave when your shift is over. </li><li>Follow proper procedure to find coverage when unable to attend a scheduled shift. </li><li>Submit payroll in a timely manner (by 5p.m. Friday following end of pay period). </li><li>In the case of emergency, communicate with Director/Assistant Director. </li><li>Must attend all required trainings and meetings. </li><li>Must be willing to work early morning, evening, and weekend shifts. </li></ul> <p>Duties Related to Front Desk:</p> <ul> <li>Welcome patrons upon entering the facility. </li><li>Validate memberships by swiping ID cards. </li><li>Sell services and guest passes using Fusion Software System. </li><li>Answer the phone in a professional manner, take notes, and relay information to appropriate personnel when necessary. </li></ul> <p>Duties Related to Equipment Checkout:</p> <ul> <li>Manage the rental/sale of equipment using Fusion Software. </li><li>Properly complete laundry duties including washing, drying, and folding. </li><li>Maintain accurate equipment inventory. </li><li>Report and document damaged equipment using provided forms. </li><li>Direct patrons to the Recreational Sports Office when equipment is returned past allotted rental period. </li></ul> <p>Duties Related to Fitness Attendant:</p> <ul> <li>Circulate throughout all fitness related spaces throughout your entire shift to ensure all patrons are safe and areas are well kept and clean. </li><li>Clean/organize each area (disinfect and wipe down cardio equipment/benches, re-rack weights, etc.). </li><li>Report and document broken or malfunctioning equipment using provided forms. </li></ul> <p>Days/Hours Needed</p> <p>Shifts are typically 2-3 hours long (it is possible to work double shifts up to six hours) between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday and Sunday.</p> <p>Must be willing to work early morning and weekend shifts.</p> <p>Campus Location/Bldg.</p> <p>Student Life Center</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must be a current SUNY student. </li><li>Must hold certification in CPR/AED/First Aid or be willing to become certified within 30 days of hire. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Have the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Able to walk around and supervise various areas within the facility. </li><li>Be able to stand on your feet for extended periods of time. </li></ul> <p>Special Conditions for Eligibility Contact Name(s) & Email(s)</p> <p>Louise Mahar</p> <p>louise.mahar@cortland.edu</p> <p>Salary Grade A-$15.50/hr.
