We are an equal opportunity employer; no information obtained during the recruitment/selection process is intended for any discriminatory purposes.</p> <p>Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule</p> <p>Grade: 205</p> <p>Salary: $39,116 - $64,096 Annually (Dependent on Qualifications)</p> <p>Department: Police - Code Enforcement Division</p> <p>E-mail: MelissaM2@cctexas.com</p> <p>ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Rotating 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <ul> <li>Qualifications have changed effective September 14, 2018* </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Supervise the investigation and enforcement the City Building and Housing Standards Code, City Code of Ordinances, City Zoning Ordinances, Unified Development Code, City Building Code, City Solid Waste Ordinances, City Utility Ordinances, Texas Health and Safety Codes, Texas Administrative Code and other applicable laws and statutes in accordance with preserving the health, safety, and welfare of the general public.</p> <ul> <li>Ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to by direct reports in their investigations of property maintenance violations, solid waste violations, utility violations, zoning violations, building permit violations, vacant buildings, sub-standard structures, etc. </li><li>Monitor and evaluate compliance officer caseload and resolution completion rate. </li><li>Assist with or conduct investigations as needed. </li><li>Train new hires regarding ordinances, laws, rules, division protocol and City policies. </li><li>Communicate daily with citizens to educate property owners, tenants and other responsible parties on expectations to achieve compliance with applicable Codes and Laws. </li><li>Respond and resolve internal and external customer complaints in regard to division procedures or personnel matters involving code enforcement staff. </li><li>Ensure compliance officers are following through with correspondence concerning complaints and solutions for responsible parties to attain compliance with applicable Codes and Laws. </li><li>Research and resolve billing and lien disputes for abatements completed by third party contractors, and monitor contractor job performance. </li><li>Respond to open records requests. </li><li>Serve as department liaison at board hearings, community meetings, and public presentations. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Requires a Bachelor's Degree </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of supervisor experience </li><li>A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered </li><li>Texas Department of State Health Services Certification as a Registered Code Enforcement Officer required within one (1) year of hire </li><li>Intermediate/Advanced Code Enforcement Training Certification required within two and a half (2 ½ ) years of hire </li><li>International Property Maintenance Inspector Certification (ICC) required within one (1) year </li><li>A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>The City offers an excellent benefit package that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Texas Municipal Retirement System - the City offers a 2 to 1 match.
