Students receive some or all of their academic instruction through a modified curriculum in the special education setting. Additional specialized instruction and support may be required in the areas of functional needs and/or behavioral intervention. The use of effective behavioral strategies such as level systems, visual schedules, communication boards, etc., is expected. Teachers accepting positions in Social Support programs must become certified in CPI and follow all district procedures related to the use of CPI techniques.
