<p>Fairgrounds Maintenance Tech (Temporary)</p> <p>Employment Type: 1 - Full-time Temporary</p> <p>Pay Range: $20.00 - 23.72</p> <p>Location: Castle Rock, CO</p> <p>Overtime Exempt: N</p> <p>Elected Office / Department: FACILITIES</p> <p>Assist the Fairground Maintenance Technicians in maintaining Fairgrounds facilities. Perform preventive, scheduled, and custodial maintenance of grounds and facilities.</p> <p>Typical work schedule: Monday - Friday, additional day, evening, weekend and/or holiday hours may be required.</p> <p>The typical hiring rate is $20 per hour.</p> <p>As a temporary position, no benefits are available.</p> <p>View the full job description here</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.)</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain Venue quality, consisting of maintaining the look of the facility and working with internal departments to assist in the facilitation of smooth and successful events.</p> </li><li> <p>Execute daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of buildings, and structures to determine cleanliness, functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repairs, making notes and recommendations using pre-established guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs cleanliness inspections and all janitorial duties necessary to maintain clean facilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes accurate work orders and reporting to include documenting time and materials used through County work order process. Maintain preventive and unscheduled maintenance logs.</p> </li><li> <p>Sets up chairs, tables, stages, panels etc. for scheduled events to include break down and clean up. Document materials and services provided for events to ensure proper billing.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive and operates a variety of motorized and powered equipment in compliance with safety policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs general maintenance of facilities and grounds and basic construction and repair work. Troubleshoots building mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C., plumbing, sound, security life safety systems Ensures sidewalks adjacent to County facilities are kept free of snow and ice.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the work of contracted staff and volunteers.</p> </li><li> <p>Interacts with Castle Rock Fire Dept to ensure events are fire code compliant, Sheriff for security needs, hired security and parking staff, service technicians, and volunteers.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes accurate work orders and reporting to include documenting time and materials used through County work order process. Maintain preventive and unscheduled maintenance logs.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and maintain facilities for emergency shelters: animal and people evacuation, snow and emergency shelter.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows best practices for biosecurity to maintain healthy and sanitary conditions.</p> </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED and one year of general labor or similar industry experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.</p> <p>CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: A valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain before hire is required.</p> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:</p> <p>Closing Date: 6/20/2025 5:59PM MST. This may mean being available to perform additional duties and hours beyond what is normally required. In the event that an exempt employee does work more than 40 hours a week in support of County operations during an emergency, such employee may receive overtime or other appropriate wage compensation in accordance with existing County policies or at the discretion of the County.</p>
