Responsible for coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and integrating applications. Ensures system improvements are successfully implemented and aligned with business needs.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>We are seeking an Application Developer to join our team at either the Intermediate (P2) or Career Professional (P3) level, depending on experience and qualifications.</p> <ul> <li>P2 (Grade 6): Builds and supports moderately complex applications while continuing to develop technical expertise. </li><li>P3 (Grade 7): Independently delivers complex solutions, solves advanced problems, and serves as a resource for less experienced team members. </li></ul> <p>This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Programming & Software Development (PROG)</p> <ul> <li>Design, code, test, debug, and document software applications following established standards </li><li>Develop moderately complex (P2) to complex (P3) programs and scripts </li><li>Participate in code and design reviews; lead reviews at the P3 level </li><li>Translate business and technical requirements into effective solutions </li></ul> <p>Application Support (ASUP)</p> <ul> <li>Monitor and maintain application performance and availability </li><li>Investigate and resolve application issues using standard tools and processes </li><li>Execute maintenance tasks and generate performance reports </li><li>Ensure support requests are handled in accordance with established procedures </li></ul> <p>Incident Management (USUP)</p> <ul> <li>Identify, categorize, prioritize, and document incidents </li><li>Diagnose issues and coordinate resolution efforts </li><li>Escalate complex incidents as needed and support recovery activities </li><li>Maintain accurate records and communicate status updates </li></ul> <p>Problem Management (PBMG)</p> <ul> <li>Investigate root causes of system and application issues </li><li>Recommend and implement fixes and preventative measures </li><li>Monitor resolution progress and contribute to continuous improvement efforts </li></ul> <p>Systems Design (DESN)</p> <ul> <li>Design system components and interfaces aligned with business requirements </li><li>Translate logical designs into physical designs and technical specifications </li><li>Ensure designs meet performance, security, and usability standards </li><li>Create and maintain design documentation and prototypes </li></ul> <p>Systems Integration (SINT)</p> <ul> <li>Define and manage build and integration processes </li><li>Configure environments and deploy application components </li><li>Develop and execute integration test plans </li><li>Diagnose and resolve integration and performance issues </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)</p> <p>P2 (Grade 6): Typically 2+ years of relevant experience</p> <p>P3 (Grade 7): Typically 5+ years of relevant experience</p> <p>Competencies:</p> <p>Functional Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Business goals and change initiatives </li><li>User experience design frameworks </li><li>Change management processes </li><li>Software configuration and development practices </li><li>Operating systems, databases, and infrastructure concepts </li></ul> <p>Level Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>P2: Working knowledge </li><li>P3: Intermediate to advanced knowledge </li></ul> <p>General Skills</p> <ul> <li>Customer focus and service orientation </li><li>Accuracy and attention to detail </li><li>Risk awareness and mitigation </li><li>Strong communication (written and verbal) </li><li>Collaboration and interpersonal effectiveness </li><li>Decision-making and prioritization </li></ul> <p>Level Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>P2: Developing to proficient </li><li>P3: Proficient to advanced; may mentor others </li></ul> <p>Work Environment & Cognitive Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to manage deadlines and time-sensitive tasks </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Adaptability in a dynamic, changing environment </li><li>Effective collaboration within team settings </li><li>Ability to communicate and perform under pressure </li><li>Commitment to continuous learning and improvement </li></ul> <p>Cognitive Scope:</p> <ul> <li>P2: Applies established principles to solve varied, practical problems </li><li>P3: Uses advanced analytical thinking to solve complex problems and drive improvements </li></ul> <p>We are interested in every qualified candidate, but will prioritize those local to the area and those with unrestricted the right to work in the United States of America.</p> <p>Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity.</p> <p>PGE believes in rewarding dedicated performance.
