<p>WATE, the ABC Affiliate in Knoxville, Tennessee is looking for a Reporter/MMJ to join our dynamic team. You must be creative, energetic, and adaptable. This person will also be a strong storyteller with excellent shooting and editing skills.</p> <p>The successful candidate will be asked to work solo on stories and will be a major part of the station's online success by posting timely updates, stories, and other content on our digital platforms.</p> <ul> <li>Work with management to enterprise and develop stories daily </li><li>Demonstrate compelling storytelling using dynamic live shots, graphics, and stand-ups </li><li>Shoot, write and edit news stories </li><li>Stay on top of current events and issues that impact the East Tennessee community </li><li>Be flexible on schedule </li><li>Responds to breaking news and other urgent newsrooms situations as required. </li><li>Participates in promotional activities including public appearances. </li><li>Social Media Savvy: Interacts with viewers/users on social media sites. </li></ul> <p>Requirements & Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. </li><li>Fluency in English. </li><li>Knowledge of AP style </li><li>Minimum two years' experience in news reporting or producing. </li><li>Excellent news judgment with an expansive knowledge of local and national current events, history, newsmakers, and issues. </li><li>Valid driver's license with a good driving record. </li></ul> <p>Flexibility to work any shift.</p>
