<p>Position/Department Summary:</p> <p>Cares for the health, welfare and safety of children under 5 years of age in a group setting. Works with a team of teachers, to provide a caring environment where children are safe and secure. Helps to plan appropriate age activities. Communicate with parents concerning their children's activities, health and well-being.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Caring for the welfare, health and safety of the children in the group. Carrying out Center policies regarding the safety and well-being of children. </li><li>Preparing healthy snacks, feeds and diapers children. </li><li>Collaborating with teaching team to plan age-appropriate daily activities, classroom routines and classroom design. Conducting daily activities. Prepares and selects appropriate materials and helps to foster and facilitate play between children. </li><li>Developing trusting relationships with children. Reporting to team unusual or extreme behavior which may indicate emotional, developmental or physical problems. Carrying out plans developed for supporting children with extra needs. </li><li>Working to develop supportive, cooperative relationships with parents. Communicating with parents about children's activities and enforces Center policies when necessary. </li><li>Participating in preparation of progress reports on children. Prepare written progress reports on assigned children. </li><li>Working individually and as a team to bring about positive learning and work environment. </li><li>Attending appropriate staff meetings, parent functions, advisory meetings and 20 hours of required service training. Responsible for opening or closing the Center. </li><li>As required by DEEC, complete all developmental assessments and developmental books on assigned children. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A High School diploma or GED. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or closely related field preferred </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>One to two years of professional teaching experience with infants, toddlers and/or preschoolers. </li></ul> <p>Certification/Registration Required:</p> <ul> <li>Department of Early Education and Care Certification required. </li><li>First Aid/CPR Certified. </li></ul> <p>Incentives:</p> <ul> <li>Employee Referral Bonus of $2,000.00 </li><li>Sign on Bonus of $2,500.00 </li></ul> <p>The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.</p> <p>Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
