There are two kinds of courses the selected candidate will teach. First, they will teach sections of PHIL 210: Ethics, a core curriculum course taken by all undergraduate students at the University. Second, they will also teach at least one upper-level ethics course each semester. The topic for this upper-level ethics course will depend on the interests/expertise of the selected candidate and the programmatic needs of the department. For example, it could be (though needn't necessarily be) a course focused on an area of applied ethics (e.g., biomedical ethics, environmental ethics, technology ethics). An exact teaching schedule will be determined once the position is filled, but it is likely the selected candidate will be assigned two sections of PHIL 210 and one upper-level ethics course each semester.</p> <p>This position is sponsored through the University of Scranton's Ethics Across the Curriculum Initiative. In addition to fulfilling the above teaching responsibilities, the selected candidate will assist the coordinators of the Ethics Across the Curriculum Initiative with other activities associated with the Initiative.
