Hcap.utsa.edu</p> <p>Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice</p> <p>The mission of the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice is to engage in research, education and service to students, practitioners, policymakers and the community. This mission is accomplished by creating and disseminating knowledge and partnering with all communities and institutions to address complex social problems.</p> <p>Salary Range: Up to $52,900/9-month contract, with separate internship appointment in summer semester, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications</p> <p>Job Type: Full Time</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Fixed-termed track faculty members at UTSA are expected to:</p> <ul> <li>Teach multiple course sections of undergraduate courses in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice. </li><li>Coordinate, administer, and manage the undergraduate internship program including as the instructor of record for the internship course in Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. This responsibility includes an emphasis on facilitating professional development experiences for undergraduate students and building and maintaining external relationships with internship partners. </li><li>Advise and support student success at the undergraduate level by promoting interactions and connections with community stakeholders to fulfill experiential learning and classroom to career initiatives within the department, college and university. </li></ul> <p>Fall 2026 teaching workload commitments must be met by all faculty at UT San Antonio and are set no less than annually. The typical instructional expectation is teaching 4 courses per semester with a 20% service commitment.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or closely related field. </li><li>Teaching experience in post-secondary educational settings or equivalent. </li><li>This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Professional experience working in the field of criminal justice or a related field. </li><li>Administrative, managerial, or leadership experience. </li><li>Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard). </li></ul> <p>Application Process</p> <p>To apply, applicants must upload the following in a single PDF document:</p> <ul> <li>Resume/Curriculum vitae (CV) </li><li>Cover letter discussing professional and leadership experience </li><li>Teaching Statement </li><li>Transcript of highest degree </li></ul> <p>Posting Close Date: Open until filled.
