<p>The Department of Economics at the University of Virginia seeks an Intermediate Administrative Assistant to perform clerical and administrative work to support faculty and students within the department. The incumbent will work under the general direction of a supervisor but must have proven experience working independently and being self-motivated, problem solving and making sound decisions based on operating procedures, policies, and guidance from senior leadership. Requires someone who pays close attention to detail, has reliable follow-through, and is willing to learn and adapt to new tasks.</p> <p>Job Duties Include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Composing and distributing memos to students, faculty, and others as it relates to faculty's courses and other obligations.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with undergraduate students to solve scheduling problems and gather information about course registration.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide editorial support for communications and speech writing</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain multiple databases and record-keeping systems</p> </li><li> <p>Manage student awarding</p> </li><li> <p>Manage Undergraduate Teaching Fellows (UTF) program. This will include scheduling, planning, and organizing special events related to the UTF program, so event planning experience is helpful. This will also include reviewing and approving hours worked and payments for UTFs.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>Education: High School Diploma</p> <p>Experience: At least one year of relevant experience.</p> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li> <p>Proficient in managing calendars</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in arranging travel & speaking engagements</p> </li><li> <p>Experience arranging phone & Zoom conferences</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</p> </li></ul> <p>Position Details: This is a part-time, 24 hours a week non-exempt position with UVA benefits. The position is located in Charlottesville, VA.</p> <p>Anticipated Salary: $20-$26 an hour.</p> <p>Application Instructions: Apply Now .
