It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, Rockville General, a campus of Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 102-bed facility, a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services. The Greater Manchester Region serves a region of 300,000 people in 19 towns.</p> <p>The Histotechnologist performs the various procedures employed to generate microscopic slides for our Pathologists.</p> <ul> <li>Processes specimens according to identified procedures in the gross area. Properly identifies patients throughout the accessioning process. Enters and verifies correct patient demographic information from the requisition. </li><li>Performs tissue embedding. Properly identifies patients throughout process. </li><li>Prepares slides and stains according to SOP. </li><li>Maintains equipment and reagents as identified on maintenance schedules. </li><li>Documents for all equipment maintenance. </li><li>Troubleshoots equipment and procedures and demonstrates a good working knowledge of equipment functions. </li><li>Performs Quality Control according to established procedures. </li><li>Meets or exceeds the quality guidelines and turnaround times as established by our Pathologists </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Twelve (12) months of training in an approved and accredited school of histology is preferred. </li><li>American Society of Clinical Pathologists registered or eligible preferred. </li><li>At least one (1) year of clinical histology experience. </li><li>Have at least one (1) year of histology experience preferred. </li><li>Must be able to read, speak and write using the English language. </li></ul> <p>We take great care of careers.</p> <p>With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
