CASA opens in September, 2025 with 200 students in grades 6 and 9 and will over three years to a full grade 6-12 school. CASA will integrate advanced curricula, interdisciplinary project-based learning, and real-world applications to inspire and engage students from diverse backgrounds.</p> <p>CASA utilizes the unique opportunities within the Lynn community to build innovative, responsive, and meaningful project-based learning experiences for all students. Our commitment to a dynamic schedule allows students to learn in authentic, collaborative, and inter/transdisciplinary ways. Because teacher collaboration and inspiration is foundational to our curriculum, we ensure common planning time and ongoing professional development for our faculty. Community partners are at the heart of our connections to Lynn, and we are supported by abundant, sustainable, nourishing, and reciprocal community partnerships across the arts and sciences.</p> <p>CASA's current mission is to inspire designers and artists to use creativity, critical thinking, and experimentation to imagine and cultivate a future vested in community.</p> <p>CASA's current core values:</p> <ul> <li>Visionary </li><li>Courageous </li><li>Flexible </li></ul> <p>Who is a CASA Faculty member?</p> <p>CASA faculty are unique and essential partners in creating an environment that fosters excellence and cultivates tomorrow's leaders in STEM and the Arts.</p> <p>A CASA faculty member:</p> <ul> <li>Creates and researches project-based learning experiences that are engaging, educational and exciting for students. </li><li>CASA faculty welcomes the flexibility of being part of an emergent team and is willing to respond to the changing needs of a creative, innovative learning and teaching environment. </li><li>CASA faculty are enthusiastic about developing a project-based classroom; modifying and expanding existing curriculum to respond to the needs of the students at any given time. </li><li>Plans, prepares, and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences. </li><li>Incorporates goals, competencies, and objectives into lesson plans in ways that directly apply to the student's lived experience and to the Lynn community. </li><li>Collaborates with community partners and other teachers. </li></ul> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Collaborate, participate in, and lead the creation of an integrated interdisciplinary arts-infused, project-based curriculum including developing and assessing exhibitions.</p> </li><li> <p>Along with other faculty, participate in strategic planning and department management. Areas include but are not limited to assessment, piloting and creating new curricula, piloting and creating cross-discipline short and long-term projects, implementing technology, student case management, and exhibition/competition/partnership participation.</p> </li><li> <p>Internalize and draw from district curricula seeking opportunities to develop project-based learning aligned to district curricula; actively seek opportunities to supplement curricula with a culturally-responsive lens.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers about student progress.</p> </li><li> <p>Accept flexible assignments, such as team and interdisciplinary teaching, working with different age groups and ability levels, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with university, college, and community collaborators.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform general administrative tasks associated with teaching, learning, and data cycles.</p> </li><li> <p>Align the teaching and learning cycles to connect to school-wide student learning expectations and school-wide learning experiences.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in a paid, forty-hour summer institute.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license in the specific subject area(s)in Mathematics 5-12.</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>SEI Endorsement as applicable.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in urban schools preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Enthusiasm for and/or experience with project-based learning, multidisciplinary curriculum, STEAM pedagogy, and the willingness to develop professionally in these areas.</p> </li><li> <p>A desire to increase skills and ability to deliver strong, innovative, project-based learning across many disciplines.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to the arts as an important element in a complete education.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to cultural, ethnic, and linguistic diversity as an element in a complete education.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to and demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction in the classroom.</p> </li><li> <p>Enthusiasm and eagerness to work at a new school, be a founding team member, and build school culture.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to take on responsibilities and prioritize quickly.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in an innovative, collaborative, diverse school.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills and critical thinking skills.</p> </li><li> <p>A desire to lead an Advisory and to develop professional skills in SEL, Human Development, and Social Justice.</p> </li></ol> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>As negotiated with Lynn School Committee and Lynn Teachers Union. </li><li>180 days per year </li><li>Teacher Salary Estimator </li></ul> <p>BENEFITS: The City of Lynn offers comprehensive and competitive health and dental benefits; Harvard Pilgrim PPO/HMO, Altus Dental High/Low, and Vision Insurance.
