<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Actalent connects passion with purpose. We are supporting critical engineering and sciences initiatives that advance how companies serve the world. With almost 40 years of experience, our scalable talent solutions and engineering and sciences services provide the expertise our customers need to achieve more.</p> <p>This role will assist both the Inside Plant and Outside Plant fiber engineering teams and will involve direct interaction with clients. The engineer will be responsible for creating detailed and accurate designs for fiber optic path and network communications, primarily using AutoCAD. Collaboration with other engineering staff on client projects will be essential. Success in this position will require strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.</p> <p>Primary Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Learn Inside Plant optical engineering design. </li><li>Design network connections for AdTran, Xtran, SEL RTAC, and SEL Axion equipment in an electrical substation environment. </li><li>Design communication cabinets and rack face elevations. </li><li>Fiber system optical and route design within electrical substation campuses. </li><li>Work with clients/customers to define requirements and scope projects. </li><li>Coordinate with Station Engineering and other Engineering representatives to design communications building compound layout. </li><li>Specify foundation, conduit, and power requirements for telecommunications buildings. </li><li>Specify, bid, and procure communications structure/cabinet. </li><li>Ensure all work activities are performed in accordance with policies, practices, procedures, standards, and rules of the company in compliance with regulations and procedures required by external agencies. </li><li>Promote safety standards and practices </li><li>Develop Internal / External partnerships and relationships </li><li>Work under supervision of Engineer III, IV, Senior Engineers, and Principle Engineers </li><li>Position requires up to 10% travel for site visits </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Computer Engineering </li><li>Zero to two years of experience in aerial and underground fiber and copper communication cable engineering, operation and construction related methods, procedures and technologies </li><li>Zero to two years of experience in Detailed fiber system optical and route design </li><li>Zero to two years of experience with communications tower and facilities engineering, operation and construction related methods, and procedures </li><li>Zero to two years of experience managing contract construction/installation work teams </li><li>Zero to two years of experience planning and budgeting network additions and changes </li><li>Zero to two years of prioritizing projects and tasks </li><li>Proficiency using CAD software (e.g. Microstation, AutoCAD, TurboCAD, etc.) </li><li>Leadership and engineering experience in OSP construction and project coordination </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, or telecommunications or related discipline is preferred </li><li>Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline will count toward years of experience </li><li>EIT, PE or RCDD and OSHA 30 hour training are a plus </li><li>Professional Engineering (PE) Licenses, CCNP certification, CCND certification are a plus </li></ul> <p>Requisite Abilities and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Fundamental computer literacy, knowledge, and skills </li><li>Fundamental knowledge of standards, codes, and regulations relevant to area of assignment </li><li>Fundamental understanding of applicable construction rules, regulations and permitting requirements </li><li>Fundamental skills working with clients/customers to define requirements and scope projects </li><li>Fundamental skills working with peer engineers and technicians to develop long range plans, implementation scopes and immediate courses of action </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work with others in supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary </li><li>Demonstrated willingness and capabilities to assume leadership roles </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Tulsa, OK.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $36.06/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
