<p>SUPERVISOR: BUILDING PRINCIPAL</p> <p>JOB OBJECTIVE</p> <ul> <li>Close and secure the building at the end of the shift </li><li>Clean, in the prescribed manner, the assigned areas of the building </li><li>Perform frequent/seasonal duties </li></ul> <p>JOB REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Hold a high school diploma </li><li>Be able to communicate and get along with staff and students </li><li>The custodian shall have the ability to clean properly and exhibit good housekeeping skills </li><li>BCI/FBI Background Checks </li></ul> <p>JOB LOCATION</p> <ul> <li>School building assigned </li></ul> <p>EQUIPMENT UTILIZED</p> <ul> <li>Electric floor scrubbing machine and other cleaning equipment </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Report regularly at assigned time </li><li>Secure building by locking and chaining doors. At end of shift, all areas are to be secure </li><li>Clean assigned classrooms, halls, stairways including </li><li>Emptying and removal of waste from sharpeners, containers or baskets </li><li>Remove markings, dust and/or clean furniture, walls, windows, blackboards and trays </li><li>Clean sinks, drinking fountains, check and refill dispensers </li><li>carpeting, terrazzo and tile floors are to be swept, dusted or cleaned daily </li><li>Rearrange furniture, check and lock windows, check lights and fixtures and replace if necessary </li><li>Clean assigned restrooms, clinics, locker rooms are to be cleaned daily and include walls, mirrors, windows sinks and fixtures, toilets and urinals, and fill dispensers. Clean and sanitize floors and drains. Check lights and shut off. Secure doors </li><li>Clean, check, and secure other assigned areas including kitchen, cafeteria, offices, teachers' lounges, all-purpose rooms, and gymnasium </li><li>Frequent or seasonal duties are to include </li><li>Washing windows; clean and wash furniture, rugs, runners, and carpeting, scrubbing and waxing floors </li><li>Mowing, trimming and cleaning around building exterior, shrubbery and planters </li><li>Clearing of walks and entrance ways, shoveling snow, removal of ice and debris </li><li>Repair furniture, desks, chairs, tables by replacing screws, glides, etc </li><li>Perform maintenance and repair of the buildings and grounds </li><li>Assist in setting up gym, all-purpose room or special areas for activities such as assemblies, programs, athletic, or intramural events </li><li>Daily equipment should be emptied, cleaned, and properly stored </li><li>Irregularities, malfunctioning equipment, or problems should be communicated or reported in writing to the principal </li><li>End of day check lights, windows doors, gates. Set alarm and secure building. </li></ul> <p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Perform other duties as directed </li><li>Comply with all NORTHWEST Local Board of Education policies and procedures </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <ul> <li>Occasional operation of school equipment under inclement weather conditions </li><li>Occasional work with equipment/devices involving electricity, natural gas, and hydraulic fluids </li><li>Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue </li></ul>
