Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to play a key role in supporting and advancing our enterprise IT infrastructure. In this role, you'll work with a wide range of technologies-including Windows servers, VMware, Citrix, Active Directory, NetBackup, SQL, and SAN infrastructure-to ensure stability, security, and scalability across our environment. As a senior member of the team, you'll collaborate across technical and clinical areas, help evaluate and implement solutions that support Epic and other critical healthcare applications, and mentor junior engineers to strengthen IT service delivery across the organization. We're looking for someone with proven experience managing large Citrix and VMware environments, a strong foundation in enterprise infrastructure, and the ability to think strategically while staying hands-on with complex issues.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop collaborative partnerships across internal and external technical support teams to maintain and improve the integrity of the Citrix and VMware server infrastructure. </li><li>Broad understanding of health care business lines and applications preferred (EPIC). </li><li>Ability to foster new ideas and concepts and make decisions surrounding complex issues </li><li>Demonstrated clear and concise verbal and written communication skills at levels appropriate for the intended audience in a professional manner </li><li>Proven project management and decision-making capabilities </li><li>Work in collaboration with the project management office to create comprehensive statements of work and detailed project plans involving Citrix and VMware technologies. </li><li>Develop and mentor engineering staff in an effort to improve the delivery of information technology services across the Rush University Medical Center. </li><li>Assist Infrastructure Manager in evaluating Citrix and VMware technology solutions that will improve the delivery of EPIC and other business critical applications. </li></ul> <p>Required Job Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or at least 4 years related experience at the same level and/or formal training or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years advanced technical knowledge and experience in management of large Citrix and VMware environments. </li><li>Installation and configuration of Citrix and VMware server farms </li><li>Extensive experience with XenApp and XenDesktop and VMware </li><li>Installation and configuration of applications on Citrix presentation servers </li><li>Extensive experience with VMware virtualization techniques </li><li>Configuration of Citrix load balancers and Resource Manager </li><li>Configuration and management of Citrix user policies </li><li>Configuration and management of Citrix print services </li><li>Citrix onsite and offsite disaster recovery planning and support </li><li>Experience with Citrix monitoring and capacity planning tools </li><li>Experience in Windows Server and Active Directory </li><li>Network management (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) </li><li>Installation and configuration of VMware ESX </li><li>Experience with EMC/NetApp SAN infrastructure </li></ul> <p>Preferred Job Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Security, Privacy, and Regulatory/HPIAA Compliance </li><li>Healthcare Environment Experience </li></ul> <p>Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
