<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Responsible for planning, organizing, investigating, and coordinating all aspects of Juvenile Court youth that have been court-ordered to enroll in the electronic monitoring GPS service as a condition of pre-adjudication and post-adjudication. Responsible for ensuring the protection of children's rights, and public safety and ensuring effective and efficient processing of documents and records related to the Electronic Monitoring service.</p> <p>Pay Grade: 45</p> <p>Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>100% -</p> <ol> <li> <p>Two (2) years of counseling experience; preferably with youth; AND</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, behavioral sciences or related degree; OR</p> </li><li> <p>An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.</p> </li><li> <p>PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.</p> </li></ol> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Prepares pre-hearing and/or pre-trial reports of youth's compliance or non-compliance with court orders and the rules of the Electronic Monitoring Program to the Judicial Office and other parties regarding youth charged with delinquent offenses.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors, compiles, researches, verifies and records information based on GPS coordinates of those charged with delinquent offenses to further evaluate information, Draft case narratives for Attorney General's Office, Juvenile Defender's Office, and Magistrates.</p> </li><li> <p>Schedules hearing dates (re-hearings, revocation, and continuances); creates/organizes files and attends hearings to testify.</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews pre-adjudication (electronic monitoring) and post-adjudication (probation); documents compliance for disposition.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as the Division liaison to support, educate and disseminate court policies, procedures, and information to youth and families, internal staff (Juvenile Court Clerk, Judicial, and other internal divisions) and external interested parties (Sheriff's Office/Detention Services, Criminal Court, Department of Motor Vehicles, Other Agencies, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Dispositions assigned caseloads as dictated by internal policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Installs and removes electronic monitoring devices and inventory control.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains the cleanliness of electronic monitoring devices. Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.</p> </li></ol> <p>KSA's</p> <p>KSA's -</p> <ol> <li> <p>Knowledge of modern counseling techniques.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Juvenile Justice System.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to plan, organize and maintain an even flow of work.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to deal courteously with the public.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain effective working relationships with associate agencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of community resources for children and families.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to write meaningful reports and case histories.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of juvenile problems and causes.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to involve needed sources and resources in the guidance and rehabilitation of children.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to engage in public speaking required.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to use a computer in a PC network environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.</p> </li></ol> <p>Special Requirements</p> <ol> <li> <p>May be required to work evenings, holidays, and weekends on a rotational basis.</p> </li><li> <p>May be required to work in a 24-hour office.</p> </li></ol> <p>Disclaimer</p> <p>This position is subject to a background check for any convictions that have a substantial relationship to potential job duties.
