<p>Description</p> <p>Springfield College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Social Work, beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. We seek a dynamic scholar and educator with a primary area of expertise in social policy and research, experience and interest teaching in an online and in person/hybrid learning environment, and a strong commitment to advancing the College's Humanics philosophy, which emphasizes the education of the whole person-in spirit, mind, and body-for leadership in service to others.</p> <p>Springfield College is a private institution known for its unique Humanics philosophy, which emphasizes educating students in spirit, mind, and body for leadership in service to humanity. The Department of Social Work offers both BSW and MSW programs and is committed to preparing ethical, competent, and culturally responsive practitioners.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, preferably in areas of social welfare policy and research methods, and/or in other relevant areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Engage in scholarly activity and maintain an active research agenda.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to curriculum development aligned with CSWE accreditation standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Advise and mentor students, including supervision of research and practicum placements.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in service to the department, college, and broader community.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with colleagues on initiatives that advance social justice and equity.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Doctorate in Social Work or a related field (Ph.D., DSW, or ABD near completion).</p> </li><li> <p>MSW from a CSWE-accredited program and a minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship related to policy and research.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, scholarship, and service.</p> </li></ul> <p>To apply, please submit the following materials:</p> <p>A cover letter addressing your qualifications and alignment with the Humanics mission.</p> <p>Curriculum vitae.</p> <p>Statement of teaching philosophy and research interests.</p> <p>Contact information for three professional references.</p> <p>Review of applications will begin June 2025 and continue until the position is filled.</p>
