We value incredible people with incredible skills - but your commitment to a greater cause is something we value even more.</p> <p>This position performs a variety of tasks in support of the daily workflow of the pharmacy to include the appropriate distribution of medications in compliance with state and federal laws and in accordance with CSH policies and procedures. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, technicians are accountable for 1) preparing and dispensing prescribed medications for patients, 2) performing compounding of intravenous medications, 3) assisting in managing inventory, 4) performing charging and crediting functions for medications associated with drug distribution processes, and 5) performing routine clerical/administrative tasks.</p> <p>Incumbents are also accountable for: maintaining a clean and safe environment; using appropriate aseptic technique; handling controlled substances appropriately; completing all educational modules; attending regular staff meetings; keeping abreast of departmental changes/current CSH policy and procedures and The Joint Commission requirements.</p> <p>Job Requirements</p> <p>In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified Pharmacy Techs will bring the following experience:</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent </li><li>6 months compounding of IV medication </li></ul> <p>Required Licensure and Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Registered Pharmacy Tech in the state in which the employee works </li><li>Active CPT-EXCPT or CPT-PTCB or CPHT certification in good standing in the state in which the employee works as required by the state </li></ul> <p>Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of the standards, techniques and tools relating to pharmaceutical patient care. </li><li>Knowledge of the regulatory requirements applicable to pharmaceutical patient care. </li><li>Knowledge of mathematical functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, basic algebra and calculations. </li><li>Ability to mix oral powders and compounded drugs and to prepare intravenous admixture and other parenteral drugs. </li><li>Ability to understand and use/apply I.V. admixture, automated distribution systems, outpatient services and decentralized pharmacy services. This may include hazardous compounding requirements where appropriate. </li><li>Ability to understand and apply standards, procedures and techniques to the work assignment. </li><li>Ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position. </li><li>Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position </li></ul> <p>Physical/Functional Requirements - Medium</p> <p>Where You'll Work</p> <p>As one of the busiest ERs in Utah, Holy Cross Hospital - West Valley is known for offering a broad spectrum of medical services and specialty clinics to care for the diverse healthcare needs of our growing community.
