<p>Long -Term Permanent Substitute Preschool Special Education Teacher - (to cover a leave of absence) - 2025/2026</p> <p>Positions:</p> <p>Long-Term Permanent Substitute Preschool Special Education Teacher</p> <p>School:</p> <p>Burlington Early Childhood Center</p> <p>Job Goal:</p> <p>The preschool classroom teacher coordinates and provides programming for children with and without disabilities for instruction in academic, communication, social language, motor, self-regulation, and life skills.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>1) Implement the general education curriculum and specific IEP goals and objectives as well as accommodations and modifications as necessary.</p> <p>2) Complete the paperwork process associated with special education including, but not limited to, the development of IEPs, timelines, and progress reports.</p> <p>3) Monitor and track progress for the general education curriculum and complete report cards.</p> <p>4) Oversee instructional assistants assigned to your classroom.</p> <p>5) Collaborate with Team Chairperson, School Psychologists, specialists, other related service providers, and outside agencies consulting with your program to support your students' overall developmental areas</p> <p>6) Attend all professional meetings that are scheduled by the Superintendent of Schools, Director of Special Education, or building Director.</p> <p>7) Ensure that all Massachusetts Special Education Regulations are followed and implemented.</p> <p>8) Perform any other duties as requested by the Director of the BECC and/or building team chair.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Dual certification</p> <ul> <li>Early Childhood Prek-2 </li><li>Teacher of Students with Moderate or Severe Disabilities Prek-2 or Prek-8 </li></ul> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>$125 per day until the teacher comes off the salary schedule and then in accordance with the Burlington Educators' Association Unit A contract</p> <p>Start Date:</p> <p>Approximately February 3 through May 8, 2026</p> <p>The Burlington Public Schools prohibit discrimination and harassment on the basis of sex in any education program or activity that it operates.
