<p>Posting Title</p> <p>Locksmith/Access Control Technician</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Responsible for installation of appropriate electronic and mechanical locking devices and key control systems relating to ingress and egress areas throughout the university. Responsible for the keying, re-coring, repair and maintenance of all electronic and mechanical keyway locking devices and control systems.</p> <p>The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist with developing methods and procedures for implementing systems and participates in developing policies related to such systems. </li><li>Install, maintain, and repair all electronic and mechanically controlled locking systems. </li><li>Maintain comprehensive records of old and new core combinations, instructional material and catalogs. </li><li>Prepare and maintain required reports, work orders, requisitions and cost estimates of all materials related to the university lock system. </li><li>Operate code and key cutting machines, grinders, saws, drills, specialized locksmithing tools and a variety of hand tools. </li><li>Communicate with administrators, maintenance personnel, contractors and others concerning construction, maintenance and repair issues. </li><li>Responsible for responding to emergency callbacks after hours. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or G.E.D.</p> </li><li> <p>Certificate and/or certification of training from an appropriate trade school.</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience within the field of locksmithing/access control or related field may be substituted for certificate and/or certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Continuing education in the field of electronic and mechanical access control and locksmithing.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of computer software, preferably Word and/or Excel.</p> </li></ul>
