The ability to understand packaging materials, packaging equipment, industry standard test methods, and our customers' operations is a must. This person should be familiar with food/meat science and how different packaging and environmental factors can impact food products. Experience with vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) equipment is preferred.</p> <p>Responsibilities include test plan development, application and performance testing, data analysis, and communication of results and recommendations. This role is responsible for new package development, business continuity support, and in-plant customer support and training.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate new material and system designs through rigorous testing that simulate real world conditions and stresses. </li><li>Work well within a cross-functional team </li><li>Assess the impact of packaging on shelf life of various food products, including proteins applications, and use those insights to qualify new solutions and communicate performance risks. </li><li>Support the development of VFFS materials and equipment solutions. </li><li>Deliver technical training to field support and customers on VFFS equipment operation and maintenance. </li><li>Leverage knowledge of food processing techniques to influence new package development (including retort, pasteurization, HPP, etc). </li><li>Creative problem solving to support our customers and internal innovation process. </li><li>Insight creation that drives the next innovations for Sealed Air. </li><li>Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences. </li><li>Conduct root-cause analysis that enables recommendations for data driven business decisions. </li><li>Build strong customer relationships and collaborate effectively across technical and commercial teams to accelerate implementation of SEE solutions. </li><li>Partner with supply chain and manufacturing teams to assess the impact of raw material or process changes on packaging performance and product quality. </li><li>Partner with a variety of cross-functional teams within the organization to develop and transfer technologies regionally and globally. </li><li>Work effectively within a matrix managed organization. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Masters or Doctorate of Science Degree in food science, meat science, mechanical engineering or similar discipline </li><li>Experience in flexible plastics, food packaging, food manufacturing, and/or VFFS equipment </li><li>Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to approximately 30% </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Experienced with excel, ppt, word, minitab, coupa, and SAP </li><li>Experience creating data-driven reports to communicate technical ideas </li><li>Professional, highly-motivated, reliable, and solutions-orientated </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications/Skills</p> <ul> <li>5-10 years relevant industry experience (flexible plastics, food packaging, food manufacturing, VFFS equipment experience) </li><li>Experience creating data-driven reports to communicate technical ideas </li><li>Experience with test method development and design of experiments </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $102,600 - $176,755</p> <p>The range disclosed complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Offers within this range will be determined by considering relevant factors including education, experience, and internal alignment.
