This unique role blends hands-on medicine with leadership and operational influence, giving you the tools, mentorship, and support to lead the operation of a PetSmart Veterinary Services (PVS) hospital.</p> <p>Why This Role Stands Out</p> <ul> <li>Potential path to ownership with structured support and coaching </li><li>Competitive salary + leadership & management stipend + performance bonuses </li><li>Opportunity to build and cultivate a clinic culture where pets, clients, and the team thrive </li><li>A role where your voice matters-spanning both high-quality veterinary medicine and operational leadership, not simply another associate general practice position </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do - Clinical Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide comprehensive wellness care across life stages, with a focus on prevention and client education </li><li>Diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions in dogs, cats, and select exotics </li><li>Perform routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries in a fully equipped suite </li><li>Deliver thorough dental care, including cleanings, radiographs, and extractions </li><li>Create and manage diagnostic and treatment plans using in-house labs and imaging </li><li>Build a caseload aligned with your interests-general practice, surgery, internal medicine, behavior, or others </li><li>Foster lasting client relationships through trust and clear communication </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do - Leadership & Ownership Development</p> <ul> <li>Lead and mentor the clinical team in partnership with Lead Tech on daily operations </li><li>Hire, coach, and develop team members to create a positive, inclusive culture </li><li>Collaborate on staffing, inventory, and marketing with support from the business team </li><li>Help ensure compliance with standards and operating policies for PVS hospitals </li><li>Review clinic performance metrics and receive guidance to grow as a business leader </li><li>Potentially transition into ownership through an independent franchise-with continued support </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution </li><li>Licensed (and in good standing) to practice veterinary medicine in the state of employment </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in general practice, preventive care, or a community clinic setting preferred </li><li>Prior leadership or mentoring experience is a plus </li><li>Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for client education </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, retail-based clinic model </li><li>Comfortable using modern veterinary software and digital records systems </li></ul> <p>Additional Job Considerations</p> <ul> <li>This is not intended to be an all-inclusive, exhaustive list of all essential job functions for this position.
