Also responsible to provide support to the leadership team by assisting with training more junior staff, facilitating on-going education and functioning as a 'go-to' for peers.</p> <p>Does this position require Patient Care?</p> <p>Yes</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Acts as mentor for the medical assistant staff, leads by example, fosters staff development and assists in training other Medical Assistants. </li><li>Assists physicians and nurses with procedures and treatments as directed. </li><li>Interview patients to obtain medical information, record medical history/vital statistics and measure their vital signs, weight, and height. </li><li>Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing. </li><li>Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients. </li><li>Perform test as ordered by clinician, such as EKG, immunization administration, nebulizer treatment, or spirometry. </li><li>Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies. </li><li>Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
