New Canaan, CT</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>About Grace Farms:</p> <p>Grace Farms is a center for culture and collaboration in New Canaan, Connecticut. We bring together people across sectors to explore nature, arts, justice, community, and faith at the SANAA-designed River building, situated on 80 acres of natural landscapes. Our humanitarian work to end modern slavery and foster more grace and peace in our local and global communities includes leading the Design for Freedom movement to eliminate forced labor in the building materials supply chain.</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine. </li><li>Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering. </li><li>Wash pots, pans and trays by hand. </li><li>Prepares trays for incoming order tickets with silverware, napkins, etc that are appropriate for each order. Ladles out soup/popcorn for orders as appropriate for each tray that requires it. </li><li>Ensures communication in the kitchen by calling out orders, getting the status on dishes and calling out names/number of completed dishes to visitors when there is a back-up of outgoing orders. </li><li>Informs the Front of House Associates when certain dishes or ingredients have run out and passing food requests from the Café Associate to the kitchen. </li><li>Performing the finishing touches to completed dishes, such as adding garnishes and removing smudges. </li><li>Promotes a safe and clean service environment by supporting Grace Farms sanitation and cleanliness standards. </li><li>Remove trash and garbage to dumpster. </li><li>Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster daily. </li><li>Communicates on a high level with the kitchen team to expedite customer orders. </li><li>Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed. </li><li>Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. </li><li>Assisting the front of the house and back of the house staff as needed. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Skills/Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to maintain high-energy throughout the day, and ability to remain calm, friendly and unflustered during high volume periods of operations. </li><li>Ability to follow written and verbal directions in English. </li><li>Able to count accurately. </li><li>Able to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people </li><li>Highest level of integrity defined as being incredibly ethical, professional, responsible, truthful, authentic, honest, and fair. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Customer service experience required, and food/beverage service preferred. </li><li>Previous food, beverage, and kitchen experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift up to 50lbs, bend, climb stairs, and stand for long periods of time. </li></ul> <p>Compensation: $20 per hour</p> <p>MUST have reliable transportation as we are NOT near public transportation.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Grace Farms offers a comprehensive and competitive benefit package that includes tuition reimbursement, a 403(b)-retirement benefit with an organization match, along with different medical plans, including dental and vision plan, 100% employer-paid basic life insurance and short-term disability.
