<p>We're looking for a passionate and skilled Cosmetology Instructor to help shape the next generation of beauty professionals. In this role, you'll provide hands-on instruction in hairstyling, cutting, coloring, nail care, and front desk operations, while also guiding students through the related theory needed for state licensure. You'll play a key part in student success by verifying competencies, offering advisement, and supporting retention. You'll also help maintain accurate student records and build relationships with local employers to stay aligned with industry needs. This position reports to the Cosmetology Instructor/Coordinator and the Program Manager and offers a great opportunity to inspire learners and share your industry expertise.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean and productive learning environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Administer and correct tests; annotate progress on student tracking records.</p> </li><li> <p>Advance the retention of students in support of achieving program membership hour goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist students with job placement and applicable industry or state certifications/licenses in support of meeting program placement and certification goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Motivate and advise students in the areas of appropriate work behavior, training, or study habits. Assist counselors, supervisors, and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow the daily operational direction and schedule of the Instructor/Coordinator.</p> </li><li> <p>Encourage and exemplify professionalism and good work habits.</p> </li><li> <p>Support programmatic and College marketing activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Work cooperatively within the College community.</p> </li><li> <p>Control the use of equipment and supplies; recommend purchases.</p> </li><li> <p>Comply with college-wide and program-specific cash handling procedures and processes.</p> </li><li> <p>The incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent.</p> </li><li> <p>Current cosmetology license required. Preference will be given to those individuals who hold a cosmetology instructor license.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of one year of documented practical cosmetology experience or required on-the-job training to obtain instructor license.</p> </li><li> <p>Preference will be given to those individuals who have salon/teaching experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiar with word processing, email and can operate a Windows-based personal computer.</p> </li><li> <p>Spanish-speaking proficiency desirable. </p> </li></ol> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Typically, the employee will be on their feet for their whole shift.
