<p>Student Operations Manager</p> <p>BELA Charter School</p> <p>Brooklyn Emerging Leaders Academy Charter School (BELA), a new all-girls high school located in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, focused on SISTERHOOD, SCHOLARSHIP, STRENGTH and SERVICE is deeply committed to a 100% of our students completing college. Founded on the belief that academic and life preparation is equally as important; each BELA young woman will embark on her own personal and intellectual journey. Students will empower and uplift, while respectfully questioning norms to develop their own identities within their rich cultures and communities. This unique learning environment is designed for educators who are intrigued and motivated by the potential that exist within each of our Bedford Stuyvesant young women and thrives in a startup atmosphere where outcomes are clearly defined, but allows for creativity and risk taking as we define the process to meeting our goals as a school community.</p> <p>The Role</p> <p>The Student Operations Manager ensures the school office effectively serves and supports students, parents, school staff, and the Bedford Stuyvesant community. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is responsible for overall school operations including receptions oversight, inventory control, and facilities management.</p> <p>The position is a full-time, 12 month position with a start date of early July 2025.</p> <p>Teachers and Staff members at BELA will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Create inspiring, challenging, and effective teaching learning experiences for all of our students</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with fellow teachers, students and school leadership to build the school from the ground up</p> </li><li> <p>Share in the leadership of the school by taking on essential roles in addition to teaching</p> </li><li> <p>Be committed to serving all students, including Students with Disabilities and English Language Learners, in the context of the regular education classroom using a variety of inclusion models</p> </li><li> <p>Become part of a strong and supportive professional learning community</p> </li><li> <p>Enjoy and thrive in the lively and diverse world of urban adolescent young women while striving to create a model of public education that serves them well.</p> </li><li> <p>Design, facilitate and participate in experiences and conversations that relate to race, gender, class, and sexual identity in ways that empower students and foster community</p> </li></ul> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p>Attendance</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ensures the accuracy of students' daily attendance, as well as tardy, and early leave logs</p> </li><li> <p>Works with the Student Life Team and EmpowerMEnt team to ensure attendance is completed timely and accurately each day</p> </li><li> <p>Supports the goal of achieving a high Average Daily Attendance by communicating expectations of attendance to families, managing chronic lateness and absent letters, and supporting on attendance related incentives and activities.</p> </li></ul> <p>Student Information & Data</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintains and updates student profiles in BELA's Student Information System, ALMA.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages student transfers and withdrawals</p> </li><li> <p>Manages student transportation needs and is the liaison with OPT</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains student records (paper and digital) in accordance with federal and school-based policies, as well as audit guidelines</p> </li><li> <p>Manages ATS (new enrollments, transfers, immunizations, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors records verification of incoming students, prepares withdrawal forms for transferring students</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures confidentiality and security of office space, files, and all information pertaining to students, parents, staff, and community</p> </li><li> <p>Immunization and Medical records</p> </li><li> <p>Collecting payments (field trips, broken devices)</p> </li><li> <p>Report card management</p> </li></ul> <p>Student Recruitment Lead</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design and execute a marketing and operational student enrollment strategy that enables school to reach enrollment targets</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee marketing and communication campaigns for enrollment plans</p> </li><li> <p>Train seasonal recruitment staff in enrollment tactics and strategy</p> </li><li> <p>Manage recruitment team enrollment initiatives and delegate when necessary to ensure success</p> </li></ul> <p>Student and Family Relations Lead</p> <ul> <li> <p>Welcomes and attends to school guests, prospective and current families</p> </li><li> <p>Upholds and maintains a positive, nurturing, achievement-oriented school culture</p> </li><li> <p>Builds relationships with families to keep them well-informed and support their needs</p> </li><li> <p>Attends to student health needs in partnership with the school nurse</p> </li><li> <p>Seeks and implements feedback from stakeholders (parents, peers, manager, etc.) and offers feedback in an honest, respectful and timely way</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in evening family events (including but not limited to, Student Led Conferences, Summer Programs,</p> </li><li> <p>Issues student working papers upon application completion</p> </li></ul> <p>Office Operations</p> <ul> <li> <p>Organizes, secures, and maintains a pristine office space and environment</p> </li><li> <p>Directs phone calls and guests warmly and professionally</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with coordinating travel arrangements, field trips, and other student and school-wide events</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in ordering, purchasing, receiving, and organizing materials</p> </li><li> <p>Supports all school-based communication systems</p> </li><li> <p>Supports with the maintenance of the supplies in the Welcome Center</p> </li><li> <p>Supports with distribution of mail and packages</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required; Master's degree preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Prior school and/or administrative experience preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent organizational, planning and implementation skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish relationships and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders;</p> </li><li> <p>Strong working knowledge of Automate the Schools (ATS) system</p> </li><li> <p>Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word and google apps.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with managing and entering data with at least 95% accuracy; familiarity with data management systems a plus</p> </li><li> <p>1-2 years of office management, administrative, or executive assistant experience</p> </li><li> <p>Energetic and flexible professional who doesn't mind wearing multiple hats</p> </li><li> <p>Able to work independently with little or no supervision</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work</p> </li><li> <p>Impeccable attention to detail and problem-solving skills</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to make decisions thoughtfully and work well under pressure</p> </li></ul> <p>Benefits and Salary</p> <p>Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience.
