This role involves creating engaging and effective learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of our sixth-grade students.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum and best practices in science education. </li><li>Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports the physical and emotional well-being of all students. </li><li>Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students in meaningful scientific inquiry and exploration. </li><li>Foster critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity among students. </li><li>Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents. </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student learning and development. </li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and standards. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CTDOE) certification General Science, 4-12 (034). </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field with a focus on science. </li><li>Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for science education. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment. </li><li>Commitment to continuous professional growth and development. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with technology integration in the classroom. </li><li>Experience working in a diverse and inclusive educational setting. </li></ul>
